Stanford Makeshop

February 28 2016 · 10 Attendees

Our first Makeshop with the Stanford brought together 10 students from a variety of disciplines for a hands-on day of learning by building with public design. The workshop began with an overview of public design, and then moved quickly into a team-based making exercise. First, each of three teams ventured out onto the Stanford campus to identify spaces that were underutilized, unwelcoming, or awkward. Then, after choosing one of these sites to focus on, each team rapidly designed and built an installation to respond to and improve the space.
